Location: Savannah Bay, Virgin Gorda
Well today actually started last night for everyone as we took hour long shifts on anchor watch in pairs which gave each of the shipmates a little bonding time with each other as squalls came and went throughout the night along with a lightning show that lasted till sunrise. Morning came fast along with breakfast. We had blueberry muffins and eggs but had to eat below deck as the rain didn’t let up until after breakfast. After cleaning up from breakfast the soon to be open water divers had a study time before lunch with Casey the Dive instructor on board. While Casey was busy with dive students Kevin the ships first mate took the time to teach some other shipmates proper dingy control. After lunch the open water divers had their first dive! While other shipmates enjoyed some time to relax, enjoy the water and check out the beach here in Savannah Bay. Some also got a chance to blow some bubbles while checking the anchor with their fearless captain. After diving it was pretty much free time for most as we all enjoyed the scenery and flipping off the boat into the water. After a delicious dinner we had a CPR/first aid class which was followed by a wonderful surprise at the end by Julie which was the best experience ever enjoying oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!
