Location: Tobago Cays

Day 25 started with poppy seed and mixed berry muffins, followed by an Oceanography class filled with whale sounds, the study of light, sound, and heat in water. After Oceanography, the crew transitioned into a review on safety and abandon ship procedures. From there, we hopped on the dinghy and headed into shore to explore Union Island. Sadly, being a Sunday the sleepy little town was mostly closed but just about everyone was able to experience West Indie Cuisine including shark, shrimp, and conch curry. After everyone was safely back on board the boat with leftovers in hand, we raised both anchors and motored over to Tobago Cays. Once anchored, the crew had “siesta/ shower/ acrobatics off the side of the boat time.” After showering came dinner. We had amazing freshly caught lobster, that Matty showed us how to prepare, cooked in a garlic cream sauce and served over pasta, a favorite for many on Ocean Star. After a long cleanup/ dance party we all gathered in the salon for another sailing class, filled with more safety procedures and rules of the wet road. We now can communicate with each other on deck by making horn like sound signals; so convenient, yet so annoying. Overall, a pretty great day, and more adventures in store for tomorrow! setdate:2012-10-14
