This morning I had watch with my watch team from 8 am-12 pm. I love being on watch duty because we have fun conversations, play games, and occasionally have a dance party. Our watch team includes me Kayla, Abby, and Sarah. Gigi, Daniel, and Duncan. Of course, we cant forget about Calum, who is our amazing watch leader. During my watch this morning, I was at the helm for the first hour of watch, and then I did some laundry. The wind has not been very strong lately, so we have had to use the engine instead of the sails.
The calm water made it easier for me to do my laundry, which I am very happy about. The time went by very quickly. And suddenly it was lunchtime! (I totally didnt spill my plate). Anyways, after lunch, we ended up raising some of the sails because the forecast said that the wind was going to pick up soon! After that, we had nautical science class, where we learned things related to navigation. After class, we sadly had to bring the sails down because the wind was not in the mood to cooperate with us. After our hard work, we were ready for dinner! Since I am skipper today, I got to come up with a squeeze question. During the squeeze, we all hold hands and say what we are grateful for as well as answer the squeeze question. My question was: If you could volunteer in any country, which country would it be, and what would your volunteer position be? Honestly, the highlight of my day just happened. One of the staff members brought out their speaker, and we were having dance-offs! (I am the undefeated champion, if anyone was wondering. Anyways, that basically sums up the day! The day ended on a high note, and Im going to get ready for bed since my watch is from 4 am-8 am tomorrow. (Totally going to have a watch team dance-off).
