Today was our first full day in Morocco, and I was also the skipper on this chilly, ah, morning. I woke up four out of five cabins without turning on the lights. A few people told me it was the best wake-up-all program, and after getting the Focsle up, we got to feast on some delicious pancakes. After cleaning up, the dinghies were launched and we were off to Africa for the first time all program, for a beach day. We got to go through the fishing port on the dinghies, and we got to see some Moroccan culture first-hand immediately, and it was honestly so cool. Jem and I watched this boat with a few guys on it, passing buckets of fish a few meters into the air to people on the dock above.
I was hyped to run back our beach football game from our last beach day. We had a few extra crew members today for football as well, and some more people who didnt play last time joined in, so it ended up being seven-versus-sevenmy goal as quarterback was to get more people involved in the game this time. Last time we played, I just spammed go routes to Cam. I ended up throwing a touchdown pass to Jem, Samantha, Amelia, Bryson, and Cam. We had a great game before we all split off to do our own things. Some people went to just chill on the beach, others went to surf. Jem and I went to find Maria, Sabrina, and Sam, who went off on their own to find a surfboard. I ended up just chilling in the surf with the squad before we got some food at the same place Sam rented the surfboard.
After breakfast, we walked back down the beach towards where the others were with the football. Before we found Aidan with a small group of students, we stopped to talk to them, only to find out that our meeting time had been increased by half an hour, so we found a spot to eat some of our takeaway. We started walking back after grabbing most of our stuff. Halfway back from the beach to the dinghies, I noticed that I no longer had my prized possession, my football. I was genuinely devastated. The people I was with convinced me that it wasnt worth going back because it would be gone, and that we had just donated it to some kids who would have as much fun with it as we did. Until right before dinner, when the GOAT Aiden whips the football out of his bag. I made sure he was my first appointment after dinner.
