Location: Pigeon, Guadeloupe
This morning, we made our way down the coast of Guadeloupe to our next destination, Pigeon Island. Not far behind us (but if it was a race, we won:) Vela anchored nearby for a couple more days of occasional visits with new friends! Once we were settled in, we had an oceanography class, learning all about the circulation of the ocean. The circulation of the ocean and its ability to maintain temperature plays such an important role in global climates, as everyone has been learning throughout this unit of class! For lunch we had some lovely grilled cheese and tomato soup, thank you Zoe and Ella! After lunch, there was a big moment: the Navmaster practice exam. Everyone finished within their time limit, and some recounts called it a fun exam, so I would go out on a limb to say we have some navigation experts on board, almost ready for the real deal exam. Before dinner, a few friends from Vela came over for a tour of our home and some swim time before wrapping up the day with pasta, salad, and a beautiful sunset over Pigeon Island.
