Location: Boston, MA

Hello parents and readers, my name is Wilkes, and today I started my morning at 0200 for a wonderful morning shift until 0400. Thankfully, I wasn’t by myself and shared morning watch with Noah, Henry, Julia, Ellory, Bryce, and Forbes as we set sail towards Boston. By the actual morning, we arrived in Boston Harbor with thousands of people watching us participate in the boat parade. After a nerve-racking but impressive docking job, we had to do a deep boat clean, including the hull, deck, and outside. Finally, as we settled down, some decided to rest, and others decided to take a long-awaited hot shower at the marina’s shorehead. Stella and Ellery very nicely coiled a line (it took 45 minutes). They also really like the LaBarge hats, and they are working on getting some. After, we got a short snippet of time to explore a small portion of Boston, close to the marina, where we watched an Air Force fly by, ate crepes, and enjoyed some Dels Lemonade before we got some last-minute snacks before dinner. Noah and Ellory helped Jaime prepare a comforting “breakfast for dinner” meal (which was amazing). As the day ends, we prepare for the boat parade, fireworks, and debate who will do laundry on land with the limited washing machines. Today was the perfect introduction to Boston, and we are all excited for a full day in Boston tomorrow.
