This morning, we woke up to a breakfast of crepes prepared by Margaret and Skye. The rescue divers then practiced our search and recovery skills, where navigating the dreaded underwater squares made their return. Luckily, the number of sides our squares have are slowly but surely dwindling, since our attempts during the Advanced course. Pictured above are Mari and Margaret who may need some rescuing themselves. Those of us who didn’t dive headed to shore and were later joined by the divers to explore the island. I was fortunate enough to join Skye and her parents for lunch and an adventure around the island (thank you so much, I had a great time!!). Several other shipmates enjoyed their free time by joining Jules and his mom for lunch. This ended up being the majority of their appreciations for the day. Kyle bought new and improved fishing gear, with which he can catch bigger and better sargassum. To end the day, Margaret and Skye prepared a fantastic meal. We ate and cleaned up quickly, as we were all very eager to get onto shore for our night out. Looking and feeling our best, we hit the town and enjoyed live music and great company at Le Select.
Tomorrow, we try surfing; a first for many of us. Wish us luck!
