Hi!!! It’s Emalizz!!!!! I’m writing today’s blog since Teo is currently on a night dive. So I was nice enough to do the dirty work of being skipper for him! We started off this morning with breakfast, which was a nice turn of events since we haven’t had a family breakfast in 3 weeks. Hailey made a delicious oats/granola type of situation, which I really enjoyed. From there, we moved on to diving and got into what we were doing for the day. The advanced divers were practicing rescue to get their certification, while the others did their deep dive skills at 80ft to get their certification as well. I myself do not enjoy diving, so I stayed back to do my destination presentation with Ben for Guadeloupe and Dominica. We had lunch and presented, then presented our final research projects for oceanography. This consisted of a wide variety of knowledge and shenanigans because we were all eager to get to shore and swim. When we were done cleaning up the salon and deck with our belongings and dive gear, and Alexa’s shampoo that had been sitting there for two whole days, we finally made it to shore, where you could swim, snorkel, play football, go explore the island, take a nap, or talk to the locals!
Which I did. I had a very nice conversation with someone who lived in the area, and she was fascinated that we had all crossed the Atlantic while earning college credits at the same time. Which, honestly, I would have the same reaction if I were in her position. The island we travelled 50 feet to was absolutely gorgeous, and the contrast between the blue ocean and green trees was so refreshing and calming to look at. After our shore time, we headed back to the boat and had dinner that Mama Meg had made. We were even greeted with our first fresh salad, fruits, and even cold sodas. It was heavenly. We all ate dinner and discussed who would be what for our second student-led passage coming up in the next few days, but I’m going to leave that as a surprise and something for all of you at home to look forward to. It was a very eventful dinner, probably one of the most eventful ones, actually. Anywho, Teo and eight others are diving with Aidan and Rachel right now. And with that, goodnight everyone!!!
My sunshine’s at home, I miss you dearly -Emalizz
