Let’s see here. Today started with an amazing view of the sunrise around 5 am when I was awoken for an anchor watch. I checked wind speed, our depth and made sure one last time for the night that the anchor was safe and sound. Being skipper today, I woke everyone up, even though I was not the first up, as I had planned. Mornings start with a nice rinse in the ocean and a shower to get the day off right. We continued our diving certifications and dove deeper into the science behind our body’s limits underwater. Next came a jump off the port beam for a swim to the beach and a scout for any sea turtles on the way in. Some of us had a fresh coconut, which took some force to break into. A lot of force. After lunch, we had our intro to seamanship and had the opportunity to go to the grocery store to get preferred drinks and snacks for our upcoming voyage. I picked up some tasty San Pelligrino’s for the ride. To my family, I am loving this trip. I have not laughed this much in a long time. I told everyone how my 6, soon 7-year-old little brother can scuba dive. The reactions from the dive professionals varied, to say the least. Off to the deck now for cleanup, after we will stargaze while talking about life with our feet hanging above the Caribbean sea. – Also listening to our captain’s “Caps” sweet playlist.
