Location: Deshaies, Guadeloupe
Today was a peaceful day for the Ocean Star shipmates. A good breakfast was followed by a great Marine Biology lecture courtesy of Faloon. The rest of the day was free for everybody to do their own thing. Some shipmates headed off on a dive and practiced their navigation skills, some hiked up a stream to be rewarded with a beautiful waterfall and rock pools, while others enjoyed a delicious French lunch and found their own pools, of the chlorine variety. To describe Deshaies as a sleepy French town would be more accurate than the usual use of the phrase. The “siesta” time apparently runs from about 11:30am till about 4:30pm! However a nice relaxing day was definitely appreciated by all, and how it allowed everyone to recharge in preparation for our early start and long sail to Antigua tomorrow. Bonsoir!
