Location: Underway to Barbados
As full days on passage slip away from us like indigo-hued Atlantic seawater beneath Argo’s hull, the crew, while grateful for the powerful wind and swells propelling us, is perceptibly ready to slow things down and trade in salt spray for sand and the clearer waters of the Caribbean.Today proceeded as normal – watch rotations peppered with a gazpacho lunch, oceanography and leadership classes, and watching various individuals fly across the salon (no parents). As always we ended with a squeeze question and I asked each crewmember to liken the person to their left to any candy. I think we’d all agree that the most apt comparison would be that of Lexi to saltwater taffy (spot on, I don’t know why). Dinner was succeeded by decadent chocolate chip cookies baked in honor of our staff member, Bryant’s birthday today.
I’d like to take a moment to dedicate this blog post to my parents who celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary tomorrow and to let them know how proud I am of them and how grateful I am for always holding my brother and I to a high standard in the way we carry ourselves and treat others. Congratulations, I can’t wait to celebrate in Antigua.
