Location: Underway to the Azores

Today started off early for most of us, as just after 5 am, we were able to see dolphins nearby. In the morning, we were able to raise our main sail, jib, and flying jib as the wind started picking up again. After a great lunch consisting of grilled cheese and tomato soup, we had both leadership, where Maya and Maria had a great presentation on parts of our textbook. Seamanship afterward consisted of Navmaster stuff and learning the figure eight knot as the knot of the day. The Master of Yachts students had their first exam just before dinner; naturally, everyone passed. Watch team 3 set a new speed record by achieving 9.8 kn. The chicken Alfredo dinner and a great squeeze hit just right after yet another great day on passage.
