This morning started off wonderfully at 3:30 AM, when I was sung to, to be woken up by a dark figure. (Destiny) After coming to my senses, I enter the galley and, to my amazement, I spot Rei-Ching beginning lunch at 3:30 AM. I think her watch was broken. From here, I get up on deck with the rest of watch team three, and we begin a game, a new watch team three tradition. It’s called “Guess What’s in My Pocket.” The rules are that you can have anything in your pocket, but once someone guesses what it is, you have to eat it. Today was a stumper. Wiley had a small carrot chunk, and Fin had a half-eaten, day-old jar of apricots. After many fun conversations and a delightful sunrise, it was time for bed. A quick nap from 8 to 10:30. Then a nice little study sesh with my peers brought us to lunch. Currently at the back of the line waiting for food, Henry and I are seeing who can do the better monkey impression when we are suddenly caught off guard.

The fishing rod seems to be getting some action. Henry runs over, straps u,p and reels in a beautiful Wahoo! Number 2 on the trip. Anywho, after that, it was time to eat lunch, which was a smashing success. After the cleanup, it’s time for class, oceanography, and seamanship. Both quite interesting today and even more interesting when I look over during the lecture to see Maia completely befuddled with the bread she’s trying to make. A sticky mess coats her hands, and a look of defeat is on her face. All is well, though she just forgot to add the last bag of flour, which I so generously poured in for her. After this, we find ourselves at dinner, with some delicious pasta Alfredo and garlic bread on the menu. It was very good. After asking my squeeze a question. “What is the best memory you have with the person to your right?” And hearing some wonderful responses, time for a clean-up. And that brings us to now, where I’m writing the blog in the salon, which is empty for the first time all day, a perfect time for T. Time to eat a Nutella rap and hit a buddy study.
