Location: UW to Grenada

During our first full day underway from Nevis to Grenada, the early morning watch team was woken up to a surprise to find a French Navy boat passively following and observing Ocean Star. The watch teams from earlier that morning enjoyed looking up into the sky to see countless shooting stars and a bright moon. As watch teams continued to rotate throughout the day, today’s head chef, Luc, made us an amazing lunch of Nutella and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with a salad. During our cleanup following lunch, a small pod of dolphins was spotted jumping through the waves and racing the bow of the boat, which was incredible for the entire crew to watch together. We then had our second oceanography class on the deck to learn about the different layers and composition of the Earth. For dinner, Luc prepared some pasta as well as carrot cake. We also ran a fishing line behind the boat the entire day but were unsuccessful in catching anything.
