Location: English Harbour, Antigua
Hey, Mom, I wanted to start this blog off by saying I’m still safe. Because there is no storm. We started our day by finishing our emergency responder certification, which was fun because we all got to bandage each other and pretend we got hurt. Once everyone passed the test, we had lunch of mac and cheese, brussels sprouts, and peas, and storm clouds and a bit of rain started rolling in, so we headed down to watch Pirates of the Caribbean. Dead Man’s Chest is always a classic. The storm was just bad enough to stop us from being able to have a beach day, as the sky stayed gray and rained off and on, and the waves outside of our protected harbor got choppy. But we all expected a bit more. Allie and Meg made us a bunch of popcorn and some amazing brownies with chocolate chip cookies inside. After our lazy day in the salon, some of us explored the marina and the small beach around the corner while others made anklets with Allie, and then, we all came topside for a delicious Thanksgiving feast some of the guys cooked. To stay in theme, instead of our appreciation of the day, we all said what we were thankful That’shat’s really all for our little storm day, and to all the parents and grandparents out there, there is no need to worry but keep praying the storm away it’se it’s working. Also, Go Vols!
Update: As I was typing this blog, the storm seemed to have heard me because our dinner cleanup was interrupted by gusting wind, rain, and lightning on the horizon. (See photo of my view from the comput We’ree’re going to have our final ICC class down below while we wait for it to pass, but all in all, the edge of the storm seems to have spared us and Antigua, leaving our storm day a bit anti-climactic (Luckily!).
