Location: Les Saintes
We awoke in the dark to start our sunrise hike. The sky began to fill with yellow, orange, and pink hues. As we were waiting for the sunrise, a full rainbow appeared behind us. Some of us began playing berry baseball to pass the time. After breakfast, we went straight to shore to explore the island of Les Saintes. Exciting! People wandered through town window shopping and following their next food craving. After enjoying baguettes and gelato, we made our way back to the ship. Next, we began our emergency first response training, which included a rendition of CPR “Call Me Maybe.” We pretended to be dying and choking and then practiced saving each other’s lives. We were quite good at it. Before dinner, we had a shower and snorkel time. Dinner was prepared by our beginner chef and turned out pretty delicious. Then our crew was split into a night dive group and a charting group again. While the dive group was playing with bioluminescence, the other was learning to plot dead reckonings. Our brain cells began to diminish as the dinghies were brought up. Nonetheless, we got the job done. We’re all going to get a good night’s sleep after closing out our 16-hour day 🙂
