Location: Palau, Sardinia
Our first day of diving was somewhat chaotic as we filled tanks, checked equipment, and generally left our BCDs in big wet piles on the deck. We split off into groups with half going out before lunch and half afterwards. For most of us with no previous SCUBA experience it was a long but exciting day involving basic tests and drills and simply becoming acclimated to breathing while underwater. After dinner we went below for dive class and learned how to use our dive tables to figure out safe diving depths and times to remain underwater. Pretty tired out after a day in the water getting used to our equipment, most of us headed to our bunks shortly afterwards intent on getting some quality sleep. There’s lots more diving tomorrow so it’s important to be well rested!
