Location: Great Banks of Newfoundland
Today began pleasantly for most. Watch team 3 started their day with the 0800-1200, where we saw dolphins before watch even began, which was awesome. Then came wake-ups… Christian and I came up with the wonderful idea of waking people up with a frozen tube of ground beef in their bed. Noah was the first victim. Then came Forbes, then Ridge, then Ellie, and finally Ophelia. We got it ALL on camera, and it was comical. Then Christian, Jerry, Giles, Declan, and I helped make lunch and some sort of attempt at boat bread.
Then we had classes in the afternoon, but we were unpleasantly surprised by a pop quiz in nautical science class. Before the quiz, some had to go on deck to wait for their turn at the exam, and we braided hair at the helm with Hannah and listened to some awesome music. NO ONE can get I was made for lovin you by KISS out of their heads now.
Dinner was Christians incredible protein-packed sweet potato beef bowls, which everyone loved. He misses his mom, his Grammy, his pop-pop, dog Birdie, and Ari. He misses his family dearly(I promise were taking good care of him). I miss my family terribly, and my boyfriend Matan, of course. Forbes misses his pretty puppy Mallie. Hannah misses her mom, dad, Kailin, and the rest of her family. Some are feeling quite homesick, but the family we are making among us is a comfort.
During cleanup and after, we had a little dance party in the salon listening to some classics. Today was quite a good day. This is Vela/Alex signing off 😉
