Location: Great Harbor Peter Island
Even though tomorrow is officially our last day together, day 18 feels like the trip has finally come to an end. It’s hard to recount everything that’s happened in the past 20 days but I do know that this has been an experience that I will remember forever and I wish that it wasn’t ending so soon. Every person I’ve met on this trip has taught me something new about the world and I never expected that I would grow so much and learn so many new things from living on a boat. As we traveled around the Caribbean I got to know everyone really well and I’m going to be sad when we have to say goodbye. But in addition to all the fun and good times we had, I also learned a lot of important things about myself and life at sea. I learned how to appreciate the small things and to not take for granted any action no matter how simple, because at sea everything from laundry to sleeping is a challenge to be overcome. Now when my mom asks me to do the dishes at home, Ill think how easy it is since the room isn’t swaying back and forth. But overall the most valuable thing that I’m going to take away from this trip is self growth and discipline because I feel as if I became a better and more mature person just for being here. I want to say thank you to SeaMester for giving me this opportunity and experience, and I want to say thank you to all the staff members who really made this trip awesome. So Thank You, I’ll never forget this experience.
