After Marine Biology (OCB) this morning, the crew of Ocean Star was released upon St. Barths one last time. Most spent their time eating crepes (dessert crepes are twice as good at 10 o’clock in the morning) and stocking up on snacks. Just as the dinghies pulled up to take us back to the boat for lunch, the skies opened up and let loose. Despite the overhanging threat of ominous rain clouds and scattered showers our entire time in St. Barths, our few days here could not have been more perfect – it is definitely an island I will look back on fondly.
After lunch Alex, Steph and I decided to go dive Les Gros Ilets. We saw a plethora of grouper, got samples from two anemones, and spotted a giant tarpon hovering off the reef, shimmering silver in the sunlight. With the end of the semester looming ever nearer, and all our final assignment due dates growing closer, everyone was hard at work when we got back.
Dinner was delicious – Penne Alfredo. Tonight’s squeeze question – if a genie granted you three wishes, what would they be? – brought up a lot of wishes for good health (especially as a small cold makes its rounds of the crew). Some other interesting ones were Superman’s powers (Wally), endless smoothies (Mattile) and a flying magical cat companion (Tee). What would your three wishes be?
