Waking up at 6:30 in the morning by a fire drill was not the optimum way to start our day, but it was necessary to get us started early. We ate a hearty breakfast while watching the sunrise and got ready to start our hike to Mt Qua Qua, which is the second highest point in Grenada at over 2,000 feet. We met up with our guide Clifton, a local who showed us a great time at the seven sisters and we started our hike. The hike was a good combination of going up and down hills which we all enjoyed. Clifton stopped several times to teach us about the native plants and tell us a little of Grenada. After crossing some narrow paths which made some of us nervous, we finally reached the top of Mt Qua Qua after about an hour of hiking. We stayed up top for a while to take in the beautiful view of the different parts of the island. All of us climbed up the rock to get the full view of everything. We unfortunately had to head back down where we were picked up by our taxi and taken back to the marina. We ended with a delicious dinner and some class. All in all, it was a great day in Grenada.
