Location: Underway to the Canary's
This morning, we woke up at 7 am to overcast skies, but a wonderful breakfast laid out of Swedish pancakes and frozen fruit. Once we had finished eating breakfast and cleaned up, we moved into one of my favorite things aboard Argo. Passage Prep! Passage prep was super quick and efficient today thanks to our real MVP, the people in the laz putting away all of our dive gear and getting everything lashed down. After passage prep, we were given a bit of free time to ocean shower, swim, nap, catch up on homework, and relax. Most jumped immediately into the water to get our last ocean showers in before leaving for the Canary Islands. Once everyone had some free time, Calum made the call to hoist the anchor and journey to our next port. For lunch, we had delicious shepherd’s pie made by Chef Mac and the sous chefs (Taylor and Calum). During cleanup from lunch, we had a surprise man overboard drill with our favorite crew member ‘Cedric’ (a fender), taking a tumble off the stern. During our drill, Watch Team 4 (Watch Team 1 and 3) helped prepare the rescue swimmer (Mac) to complete a successful recovery of our beloved Cedric. Finished cleanup and rolled straight into Oceanography, learning about air and sea interactions such as hurricanes and the Coriolis effect. After Oceanography, Leadership was taught by Professors Xavi and Miles. For dinner, we had pistachio pasta and garlic bread. DELICIOUS GOODNIGHT FROM ROB.
