Location: Gustavia, St Barths
We awoke this morning bright and early at 4:30am to leave our 3-day home in Antigua for our next destination: St Barths. The skies looked alright as we raised the sails and as watch team 1 took over. However, just as team Foxtrot (watch team 2’s nickname) was taking the helm, the skies opened and it appeared that we were not just in a short squall, but the 3-hour storm of our lives. Hurrying to ready Ocean Star for the ride, we all set to work however, to our dismay, not all of our rain gear was as successful as we were. We alternated between motoring and sailing, depending on the wind speed, and it felt good when we had the engine off. We also caught 2 tuna, and had one as sushi on the deck while Graham, Julia and Carter filleted the second. We are now in Gustavia and excited for some time on terra firma.
