Today was our second day on S/Y Ocean Star in Tortola. It was a beautiful day out here, nice and bright. First thing in the morning, we had to do our swim test, and it was a real workout I think for everyone; we had to swim from our part of the dock to shore and back several times, and it was kind of a far swim for me at least. The other part of the swim test was a 10-minute tread, during which we decided to do some synchronized shape-making! Later, we decided to walk into the town, and it opened our eyes to what the island was like after Hurricane Irma last year. We all enjoy having each other’s company, and it makes this trip seem like it will be a life-changer for everyone on board. After today I think we are all excited to leave port and see what there is to offer coming up on this trip. Our last shipmate Ian has finally arrived today and seems like he will enjoy all of our company on this long voyage in the Caribbean.
