Hello everyone. The time has come for my final skipper blog. Being skipper has been my absolute favorite job ever, and as y’all know, skipper day means the best day. We started off our eventful day with our first-ever solo dive. The group was stoked to be able to plan a dive and do it all by ourselves (we still missed the staff, though). We split into two groups and headed over to a dive spot near O Star. The girls’ dingy had our very own Selin driving us there! We got to the spot, descended down, and had such a nice dive. So sad that it was our last one 🙁 As we all met up for our ascent back up, we had a fun little dance party/ trick show underwater before surfacing. After making our way back to the boat, we had lunch and then got ready for a little shore surprise Drew had for us. We made our way to Pigeon Beach and spent the rest of our afternoon playing capture the flag, building sand castles (and sand-men), swimming, laying out, and drinking the best smoothies ever. Drew and Heather met up with us later for trivia and a beach sign-out night. Our game consisted of questions and riddles about movies, songs, sailing, and Scientology. We had the best time ever trying to figure out some of the hilarious questions that Drew came up with. Try and see if you can figure one out:) “I fell, and my knee went into a puddle as I was in Houston.”
Once it got dark, we packed up to make our way back. As the second group waited to be picked up, we had a last-minute cannonball contest off the dock with Drew. The dingy ride back was filled with all of us shouting sea-shanties as we headed back to O-star. We got back and took our very last boat shower with each other ever. We made sure to make it count as it resulted in many entertaining jumps and dives off the boat, along with some much-needed chaotic energy. We wrapped up showers and had some delicious Alfredo pasta for dinner. Thanks, Meg. As we were all waiting in line to grab dinner, someone realized something floating in the water on the side of the boat. We soon found out that Mike’s underwear had fallen off the line. He quickly put his plate down and ran to jump in the water to swim after it. As he jumped in, a 2-foot-long needlefish jumped right over him! It was quite an eventful dinner. During dinner, Drew went over the answers to the trivia questions (which were pretty genius) and announced the winners. Congrats Allie, Olivia, and Selin (AKA nuda-dranks). We ended dinner off with my squeeze question: “If you were to be a kitchen utensil, what would you be in? Why?” That ended in some pretty great answers, which all fit everyone’s personality. To end off the squeeze, I forced a big group hug upon everyone and then abruptly screamed, “Floor is lava!!!!” As we wrap up these last couple of nights together, we are making sure to spend as much quality and bonding time together as possible. We will end our night off with some movies, snacks, and memory card making. Except I get to spend a little more of my night in the chart house getting thorns removed since I may or may not have fallen in a thorn bush during flag football.
Thank you, everyone, for following us along on our incredible journey. I am so sad to think I will have to leave O-mama so soon, but she treated us all so well.
Shout out to mom and family. I can’t wait to see you all.
