Turkey Day has never tasted so good. The day started off early; at 5 am, we were on our way to our last safari, which had everyone in high spirits. After a 1 1/2 hour drive out, many people slept in order to gain their energy for the day ahead. Once on the safari, magic occurred. No amount of words could ever describe the beauty of the African savannah that we drove through. Elephants, black and white rhinos, kudus, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, and even Pumba, who was walking around with his little kids as well as other warthogs. To say we had fun would be an understatement. After an awesome six or so hours, we headed back to our hotel to have some final shore time in the town until we had to leave for the boat.

Once back at the boathouse, we were greeted with an assortment of amazing meals. Chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, pie, you name it. Countless photos of the meals were taken, and excitement was high. Despite the amazing appearance of the food, none of us truly realized how good it was until that first bite. For me, my first bite was into the marshmallow sweet potato casserole, a good choice. Everyones plates were stacked full with all the amazing food, and no matter how much we ate, none of us could get enough. As soon as all of us thought we were full and could not eat anymore, dessert rolled around. Infinitely, more photos were taken, and my mouth watered at the sight of pie, apple crumble, ice cream, and more. I didnt think I had any more space, yet I made a plate a mile high with every dessert. Greatest choice I ever made, except for after when I felt way too full. Regardless, it was worth it. So many interesting conversations took place and everyone had a blast all around. Our day ended up being so great that even the president of South Africa came to stop by! Unfortunately, no one got to talk to him. The day was a masterpiece that not even Van Gogh could have painted. Every moment, every detail: perfect. What a way to spend Thanksgiving.

Mom, Dad, Riley, and Spencer – I miss and love you all so much and will do my best to call you as soon as I can.
