Location: Rousseau, Dominica
After sailing for 24 hours from Nevis, we made it to Dominica. This place is unlike any island we have been to before. From the minute we could see Dominica, it was covered in green; Dominica is one huge rain forest. So there is lots and lots of rain. You cant leave anything outside for too long otherwise it will get soaked. Since we arrived earlier today than expected, we spent the morning doing boat appreciation! Ocean Star will be our home for the next few weeks, and after traveling two long passages, she needed a huge clean. We scrubbed the deck, the salon, galley, heads, and the chart house. We cleaned every last inch of her. After we finished, we got free time to work on our homework for Oceanography, including writing up our research methods for our group projects and working on our literature reviews. We also had time to start studying for the upcoming PEN seamanship and VHF tests. Tonight we are having a movie night; we are watching a documentary called Racing Extinction!
