Location: Barbados

Passage, oh passage, it must come to an end. The day started off with watch team 1 putting up the fish to help us catch even more wind! Throughout the day, we had class as normal and a study hall before dinner. As we ate dinner, we took in some of the last moments of a typical passage day. Before we started clean up, Mac told us we had to have a speedy cleanup because we were going to need all hands on deck to get us anchored in Barbados! As we approached Barbados, a beautiful sunset arose with pink and orange clouds filling the sky. As the sun set, it was time to get to work! Everyone split into teams, some people were taking down the main, taking down jibs, moving back the running back stays to the pin rail, etc Once all sails were down and flaked all nice and neat, we had to be very alert. There was a bow watch of Nashota, Grant, Reed, Vittoria, and Kyler. The closer we got to shore, the more calls were being made. Every 2 seconds, there was a buoy to our starboard side or a boat approaching our port side. Things were crazy, not to mention the 2 party boats blasting music. After getting the okay signal from Mac, it was time to anchor. Everything went smoothly, and as everyone was ready to head to bed, we were welcomed by an amazing gift FIREWORKS! Fireworks started exploding in the sky from a party boat, and it was an incredible welcome from the Caribbean!
