Location: Underway to Palau

When I woke up this morning, something felt different. It was very quiet; all I could hear were the sounds of the waves crashing alongside Argo and the wind blowing through her sails. At 8 am this morning, the engine was shut off, and we were officially sailing!! It was very exciting because it was our first time sailing without the engine running.
This morning I was also able to practice my charting in the salon, and then after, I took a very nice nap up on deck. This nap was extra special because the sail was blocking the sun, and the sounds of the waves were very soothing. At 1200 we had lunch and then Seamanship with Elle, where we practiced charting. We then went up on deck to gybe (which was exciting), and after we went back down in the salon for Marine Biology, where we learned about sea birds and reptiles. After class, we all went up for deck-showers, which felt absolutely amazing (it’s one of my favorite parts of the day). We then gybed again, had some dinner, and finished up the night with a squeeze!
