Twas a good old day on Argo today. Started the day nice and early at 3:30 am for the legendary watch team 1 4 am-8 am sunrise watch (the best one). But watchteam 3 decided they wanted to be funny. This didn’t include any severe pranks it was just Benny waking everyone up in his swimming trunks??? He claimed to be feeling all over the place, and we all bought it because the man was in shorts only at 4 am in the cold. Indeed, it was an interesting way to start everyone’s day, but it was funny nevertheless. After these shenanigans, watch team 1 had a lovely watch with stories from Olympus, Sylver, and Kackie, which made it go quicker. As it finally started getting lighter, morale and energy levels also increasedls also got higher. This made the rest of our watch go nice and swiftly, but not without our sea shanty o’clock. (about 1 hour of every watch is dedicated to them). When it came to 8 am, we were finally relieved by the great Shane dog and the others on watch team 2. By this point, the rest of the watch team and I went back to bed for a lovely power nap before some delicious lunch dished up by Shane. Some mashed potatoes, scrambled egg, and his version of focaccia, which was different from the original but was tasty, so we let him off. Following lunch, it was time for the first class of the day with the Megatron. This was oceanography, and we learned about continental plates and oozesome pretty interesting stuff.
After wrapping up, we had a quick dance party, including Darrien, Cecily, Talia, Benny, and myself. Whilst this was going on, Nini, Maddie, and Kiki were attempting to work, but I believe the vibes were too immaculate that they had to join in on the occasion. Following the nice quick break, we had our first class for Navmaster with Kackie. I was rather excited for this one as I had spoken to Kackie already on our watch and was so ready for it. Sylver, Talia, Cecily, and I took to the floor as we absolutely nailed our first use on the charts, and we’d got the hang of it. I think. Coming towards dinner time, Shane was back in the kitchen accompanied by Sylver, and they were having a great time. Too good of a time, even due to our first proper PSCT lesson going on at the same time when Callum was teaching Ben, Kiki, Talia, and myself about COLREGS and much more about the buoys and markers we need to know in the maritime industry. We finished up our class, and dinner was ready. It was a delightful egg-fried rice that I believe was enjoyed by everyone. Coming into the evening and end of the day, everyone is winding down, getting ready to sleep, and doing our last bits and bobs for our first fish ID logbooks, due tomorrow. Watch Team 1 will also be starting the first of many pranks. But actual ones, unlike Watch Team Three and their weird behaviors. But it was another busy and fun day on passage with many more to come.
