I (Sydney) have been waiting forever to finally be skipper! Well, it’s been about a week, so I guess it hasn’t been forever. Anyways, This morning we began the day by waking up and going outside for breakfast. After setting up breakfast, it began to rain! Thankfully, we were able to rescue the food so that it would not be too soggy. The rain only lasted a few minutes, so we were able to head back up on deck soon after. When we went back up on deck, we saw a double rainbow! Thankfully, we were able to finish breakfast with no additional rain. Soon after we finished eating breakfast, we went out for a morning dive!

Some people are working towards their advanced certification, and the certified divers went out on a fun dive! I went out on the fun dive, and we ended up seeing so many fish! We even saw a nurse shark! After diving, we ended up having lunch on the boat. So far, the food has been a lot better than I was originally expecting, which I am very grateful for. After lunch, everyone went out on another dive in groups (Except for some people who were not diving). So far, the two dives that we did this morning were my favorite dives because they were relaxing, and we saw so many fish and beautiful reefs. After diving, a few people, including myself, began working on our first assignment for the leadership course. All of a sudden, it was dinner time. Writing the essay made the time go by very fast. At the end of every dinner, we go around in a circle for a squeeze, where we hold each other’s hands in a circle and answer a question and say what we are grateful for. Basically, you squeeze the person’s hand next to you when you’re done. My question was:
What is the best place you’ve visited, and what country is on the top of your bucket list?
Everyone’s answers were interesting, and I enjoyed hearing what other people had to say. To break up the squeeze, I told every staff member to yodel. It was the funniest thing ever, and we couldn’t stop laughing. Right now, many people are going out for a night dive, which seems like a lot of fun! Overall, today was such an amazing day, and I am so grateful to be here!
