Today, we woke up to much calmer water – bye, Beryl! After a breakfast of eggs, bacon, and bagels, we took the dinghy to shore. We got to have a dry entry, which felt like a luxury. We then taxied to a cool zip-lining spot where we each went down about ten lines. It was fun! Some people were incredibly fast and zoomed through them. Others got stuck in the middle and had to pull themselves down the rest of the line. The staff were funny and had a good time joking with us. There was also a really cute dog there that I loved so much.
After the zip lines, we headed back to the cat for lunch. Then, suddenly, Paige passed out from drowning! Then Griff had a stroke! And Gill had an allergic reaction! And Maddie couldnt walk! Just kidding. It was all part of our EFR training scenarios. It was fun to have an interactive application portion of our learning (and our crew did a surprisingly great job at acting wounded, lol).
Next, we had an option to either do a final dive or go ashore. Most of the cat dove and saw eels, a stingray, and some pretty fish. Griff and I chose to go ashore. Griff explored a fort, and I went for a walk through town and bought some delicious fresh raspberries for a snack.
After all that group workout time! We hit the circuit on the top of the cat and knocked out six rounds of pull-ups/crunches, pushups, and squats. Then, Jenna, our honorary instructor, led us in a yoga cool-down, which reminded me how inflexible I am, haha.
The crew is cleaning up from dinner now as I write. Were each taking turns with our oral sailing exam. Gill is whipping up a cake for the eve of the 4th of July, and we are ready to celebrate Merica tomorrow. Woooooo
Xoxo
