Happy Sunday, everyone! Today was a super exciting day full of lots of fun sights and exciting things to do.

We began with an early start at 6:15 am. Our morning was filled with a granola/cereal breakfast (I woke everyone up with a Mamma Mia song (of course), many laughs, and a good haul of the dinghy lines. Our zip line excursion awaited us, so it was important that we got there quickly and without delay. Once we arrived, twelve exciting lines awaited us (including a dog named Remi, coconut ice cream, and a dreamy banana smoothie). Additionally, there was a challenge course where a sibling rivalry unraveled. Kate and Michael displayed their inner competitiveness by pushing and shoving each other off the swaying lines through the thick jungle-like forest. Needless to say, there was a sure victory (I won’t share what it is…).

After this, the crew split up into two groups: one with aspirations of diving deep into the Caribbean Sea, while the other dreamt of shopping away with a little ‘retail therapy’. However, both groups were in for a different plan…the divers were met with a scene similar to that in Finding Nemo with bounce-able jellyfish (we descended ~15 feet and saw thousands of moon jellies), while the shoppers were greeted with an alternative to t-shirts and Antigua hats. However, being a part of the Ocean Star crew, we rapidly pivoted (after all, we’re all certified in being ‘competent crew members’). The divers moved to a local wreck filled with sea turtles, and the shoppers selected a palm tree-filled spot on the beach. Both groups lucked out with a plan that was even more desirable than their original.

To end this fantastic Sunday evening, the crew trekked a 1/2-mile hike to Shirley’s. Here, we were able to indulge in smoked wings, grilled burgers, and breathtaking views. This restaurant was highly recommended by our fabulous program manager, Sam, and I will be the first to say that it did not disappoint. We danced, jammed to live music, and shared a spectacular moment with each other. This trip has been incredible.

XOXO
