A 5:45 wake-up and oatmeal protein bars were the necessary and perfect start to the crew’s day in Rome! A coded scavenger hunt led the adventure, with sightseeing from the Trevi fountain, to Vatican City (including the Pope!), the Colosseum, and much, much more. Averaging 20,000 steps, today was a fun-filled, educational, and fascinating tour of Rome. The team split into four groups, competing to win the Sea|mester fabled scavenger hunt prize: bragging rights! Some teams took swift, precise action, planning the most efficient course across the city to hit every spot and make it back in time for a group tour of the Colosseum. Other groups took a more relaxed approach to the hunt, exploring whichever alleyway or street their hearts desired. Some of the crew ran into some problems while on the search for Rome’s most beautiful destinations, but with the training and determination learned aboard Argo, everything was figured out and fixed promptly. From seven in the morning to three in the afternoon, the scavenger hunt took the crew to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Vatican City, and the Altare Della Patria. At three o’clock, the crew met up at the Colosseum for another three hours of exploring the history of Rome. The day finished with a long, cold train ride back to Civitavecchia. The crew was met on Argo with a delicious dinner including homemade chilli, cornbread, and rice by Megsome much-needed fuel after a long day exploring the eternal city.
