Today was another excursion-filled day! We had an early wake-up at 5:00 am and had a delicious breakfast cooked by our first student head chef of the semester, Vittoria. We left for Table Mountain and spent the morning hiking up to the top! After some very steep climbs, we made it to the top – the views were incredible, and we enjoyed mountain top coffees, gift shops, and photo taking. We took the Table Mountain cable car back to the bottom, enjoying more stunning views along the way. Once back at Vela, we fueled up on a delicious lunch, then had some fun competition with a marine biology scavenger hunt around the V&A Waterfront and Two Oceans Aquarium! We saw many species of fish, jellyfish, sharks, and penguins in the aquarium, and historic sights around the waterfront as well. By the end of the hunt, we were exhausted from our early morning, and took some downtime while dinner was cooking. After another delicious meal by Vittoria, we took the rest of the evening to do some last-minute shopping before our big voyage to St. Helena begins in just a couple of days!
