Location: Underway To Fernando

With the sea stretching out in all directions and no boats or wildlife having crossed our path in days, we are definitely well within the desert that is the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Everyone has also definitely been sucked into the time warp, with some saying that it feels like 2 days since we left St. Helena, while others agreed that it feels like weeks ago. In reality, its only been 7 days, and the flow of the passage routine has reached a comforting monotony. There wasnt anything out of the ordinary that happened today – including the fact that we hooked yet another fish, but lost it.again. This one was definitely a big one, and it spooled the entire line, bending the hook when it dove down. The students had their oceanography midterm today – something that I think theyre all excited to have behind them. Now, we have just over one watch schedule rotation (3 days) before we arrive in Fernando! Everyone is super excited for some fresh fruits and veggies, which have never sounded more delicious.

Were all looking forward to calling home and updating everyone when we get to Fernando!
