Location: Pitit Piton Point
Welcome to another blog of the infamous ocean star
Today we woke up to Under Pressure by Queen, had breakfast, and prepared for the day’s obstacles. Getting out of the bay was challenging with the wind conditions as well as the heavy boat traffic. Once out of the bay, we got to see Vela (Another seamester boat) and did some donuts around their anchored boat, and strategized for our upcoming regatta. After circling, Vela, Sarah, Isaac, and Alex were all in charge of teams that would put the sails up. We actually seem to be getting faster. It only took us 1 hour to completely rig. While on passage to Piton, we hit a record 9.5 knots on a beautiful downwind sail where we practiced safety jibes and continued to get used to the boat. We also overtook another sailing vessel for the first time this seamester. The passage was about 3 hours total to Piton. When we arrived, we showered, ate dinner, and had a squeeze, today the question was, if you won 500 Million dollars in the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy? Mine was a monster truck.
