Location: Underway to Palau

So, it’s the first full day of passage, and everybody has been trying to adjust to the waves, sleeping, eating, and having class while underway. Which I might say has not been the easiest, but still very exciting.
Now that everyone has different watch hours and are divided into watch teams, everyone goes to sleep at a different time, so this morning when I woke up for watch at 8:00, only half of us were on deck. We started bright and early, getting the main sail up, which was really hard work! Everybody on deck pitched in, taking turns pulling up the sail. Kat, Jason, Charles, Anda, and Garrett were all putting in some serious elbow grease; it was seriously impressive. After that, some of us got turns taking the helm and steering the boat, and that’s when Kat and Josephine showed some serious skill
We also got to see, while watching, a lot of flying fish, which was so cool!!!!
I also saw during lunch, Kayla taking the helm, she was so chill, she looked like a natural doing it!
Luna cooked up some real good breakfast sandwiches for lunch, which were also a serious struggle to make (the swells got the better of the scrambled eggs, causing some serious spillage in the galley), but honestly, that was one of the best meals I’ve had here so far.
After lunch, we raised the flying jib sail and got to seamanship class, starting our Navmaster classes. By the time class ended, we were all sooooo tired, it was nap time for those who were off duty.
For Dinner, we had some amazing Bolognese, also made by Luna, and now, as I’m typing this blog, the dishy pit is fighting the swells as they try to stay dry and clean those dishes!
Overall, the first full day of passage has been quite eventful, but we’re getting used to it and hopefully will get our sea legs soon!
To my family at home, just letting you know all is well and I miss you so much <3
OK, time to go back to watch.
