Location: English Harbour, Antigua
Our 24th day aboard Ocean Star began with a hike through the forest to tidal pools and English forts from back in the day. From the peak of the mountain, we could see the Arches of Hercules tracing the shoreline. After the hike, the second half of the crew left to finish their navigation portion of the Advanced Scuba certification. While it went off without a hitch, the current was strong, and jellyfish from the day before were gone. The other half of the crew had shore time and was able to put the finishing touches on their presentations. The afternoon began with our first land showers since the beginning of the program. After that, we began our oceanography presentations, had dinner, and finished up the presentations to cap off the day. A little weather and some engine maintenance have permitted us a longer stay in Antigua, so tomorrow, we look forward to another day exploring before a late-night departure for St. Barths.
