Hi families! We started our morning with breakfast burritos! They were very delicious. We packed our day bags, fins, mask, and snorkels for a day on Nevis. We were going to go to the windward part of the island to learn about island fisheries and sea moss farmers. We hopped in the dinghy and made our way to shore. Onshore, we took a taxi with a man called The Slammer. Upon arriving at the windward side, we met many fishermen and got to hear about how they make a living. Many of the people we have encountered on the island have been so nice. The fishermen have embraced farming sea moss as an alternative to fishing.
We had the option to snorkel out to where the farms are located. Some went while others walked along the beach. After our sea moss excursion, we headed back into town. On the way back, we stopped at a natural hot spring. A couple of us dipped in to feel rejuvenated. We had some shore free time which some of took to find some lunch. I went to Wilmas and had delicious chicken and rice. The restaurant is run by a mother and a son, which is cute. After, we came back to Ocean Star. We were ready for a swim and an ocean shower. Dinner was pulled pork and potatoes, and then we got ready to go underway. We got all the things done that needed to be done, and we were off to Antigua! This passage will hopefully be easier on our stomachs! Hope everything is good back home!
