The crew of Ocean Star awoke bright and early at 6:00am to the sweet, sweet sounds of a very important musical compilation entitled Beyoncs Greatest Hits. We had fresh fruit, egg and veggie scramble and cinnamon toast made by Steph and Abby to kick start a long day at sea. We said goodbye to Antigua, a clear favorite island for many of us, and set sail for Barbuda. Aside from a brief rainy moment that had everyone clad in their foulie finest, today was one of the sunniest we’ve had in a while. We made great time on our calm and peaceful downwind sail and enjoyed BLTs and Justin Bieber tunes along the way. We made it to Barbuda around 3:00pm and were all excited to see the beautiful 17-mile beach on which we will certainly be continuing yesterday’s Frisbee festivities when we’re on shore in a couple of days. Abby and Michaela then got started on some rescue diver skills with Marina and some help from “distressed divers” Tom and Carter. The Caribbean sunset was as beautiful as ever while we enjoyed a delightful dinner of Turkey Sloppy Joes and Mashed Potatoes. Those of us who are taking EFR will be starting the second section of the course in a couple of minutes, while the rest of us plan to be soundly asleep promptly by 7:15. We are all looking forward to exploring Barbuda on the Frigate Bird Tour tomorrow, but first- SLEEP!!
