Location: Roseau, Dominica
Today was a great day for the shipmates as they got to experience the true wonders of Dominica and it’s exceptional hospitality. Said wonders included eating wonderfully smoked and jerked meats from wooden sheds along the roadside, and our local guide did some classic wheeling and dealing along the way to get the best prices for us so everyone came back with the best combination of fruit including passionfruit, bananas, starfruit, papaya, grapefruit, breadfruit, plantains and much more, which will feed us happily for days to come. The tour was finished off at the fantastic Trafalgar waterfalls, a combination of a few different waterfalls with thermal-fed pockets of water, a genuine warm shower from nature. All of this happened without my knowing, but it sounded great when everyone came back and told me over dinner. As for myself, my day is mostly a secret affair, I am not allowed to divulge the true nature of what happened, but I can leave you with some more thought-provoking questions…… is sand called sand because it’s between sea and land? Why is the slowest part of the day called rush hour? Is the S or C in the Scent silent? And if you think about it, is Disney World a people trap operated by a giant mouse???
I know, truly thought-provoking.
