Location: Underway to Union Island

Today began quite early for watch team 1 (Myself, Meg, Ben, Rihanna, Claire, and Annika); the watch was from 3 AM to 6 AM. During the watch, we all made bets on what time the sun would rise without any obstructions. Watch Team 2 (Allie, Max, Katherine, Zoe, and Mani) took over at 6 AM, and we went back to bed. We awoke for lunch and had to retake the helm at noon. For lunch, we had bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwiches. After lunch, we ate and prepared for class with Meg on Marine Providence and Sediments. After class, we had about 20 minutes of downtime, then had Seamanship with Nick. In Nicks class, we learned about safety measures on the boat, such as flares, safety equipment, and what to do in emergencies. After class we went back down below deck and watched Moana, it cool, very bueno. For dinner, we had a traditional Caribbean dinner of beans and rice, jerk chicken, plantain, and pineapple salsa – it was very good. THE END. 🙂

We should be arriving in Union Island later tonight, and it has been smooth sailing getting down here and having our longest passage be our first one to get our sea legs.
