Location: Underway to St Vincent

We started our day bright and early, as usual, but at the fuel dock instead of our anchor. It was a beautiful cool morning after a night of rain. Everyone was in good spirits this morning as we all had the opportunity to shower at the fuel dock the night before and this morning. We spent the majority of our morning securing the boat and preparing everything for our first day at sail! Everyone was really excited to finally embark on our adventure on the open ocean. Around 1 pm, we were finally prepared to push off from the dock. It felt amazing to be on the open water and feel the warm breeze as we cruised over the incoming waves. We had a quick lunch and then went over the procedures of raising the sails. Everyone worked together incredibly well, and raising the sails was a relatively smooth process, considering it was our first time! We spent the rest of our night learning the ropes of our “watch teams,” who we will take shifts with to guide and control the boat. We got to enjoy a beautiful sunset while eating our dinner. Right now, the ocean is super calm and enjoyable.

Looking forward to another day at sea tomorrow!
