Location: Tenerife, Canaries

By now, we are pretty tired of getting seasick. So, to change it up, today, we aimed for altitude sickness. We woke up bright and early, excited for our last full day before we crossed the Atlantic. The crew decided to split up; half explored the city of Tenerife de la Santa Cruz while the rest headed up to the top of El Tiere volcano, the third-highest volcano in the world at 3,700 meters. A quick cable car ride to the top provided an epic view of the island. Back at sea level, shipmates relaxed and prepared for our next passage to the Cape Verdes. The day ended in a somber mood, and there was no more land for another week!
