Location: Underway to Fiji
Hello families!!! Another day traversing the Pacific began bright and early with another stunning sunrise and watch team 1 leading us through some more sail handling. This morning we were visited by a ridiculous amount of birds, and radar spotted the first boat we’ve seen on passage (close to land)!!!! After Bella cheffed us up some lunch, we completed our Emergency First Responder scenarios on deck with some very entertaining acting and successful life-saving. Next, we switched it up with some TED Talk presentations where Amanda presented on turtle tagging, Gabe presented on traditional Pacific Islander navigation, Lewis presented on concerts, Sam and Una on the book Solitude, Ezra on meditation, Riley and Niko on things they learned from college, Frankie on autism, and Trevor on Photoshop. It was such a fun and interesting way to learn about different topics from our friends. We then rolled into deck showers and dinner, during which we reached the 6,000-mile mark!!! It’s really crazy how far we’ve come on this journey, and as it rounds down, I am already nostalgic about what an incredible adventure it has been. Crossing an ocean with your best friends has been an unbelievable experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I am so excited to make these last couple of weeks as memorable as possible. TILL FIJI!!!
