Location: Santa Cruz, Galapagos

Our passage from Panama City ended this morning with a 4-8 watch. This passage watch team 1 discussed many things from ghost stories to drop bears. We saw a huge pod of dolphins launching out of the water 50 metres off the bow. Our watch ended with the first island in sight. Some of us went to sleep for just under an hour and awoke to the distinct black cliffs and lush green vegetation. Jake helmed us nicely into the anchor, and we moved into boat appreciation after a nice lunch from James. Everyone cleaned their bunks, and some split into doing below-deck cleans and others to above-deck cleans. Everyone worked hard, and we were done before the Ecuadorian customs arrived. Fortunately, everyone and the boat passed customs checks. One customs officer noticed Morgan Cs great new buzz cut. In the late afternoon, we all took a water taxi into town and were greeted with multiple snoozing sea lions, heaps of baby sharks, and loads of pelicans. The town was much bigger than everyone expected. Harrison, Caro, Graham, and I wandered the streets and eventually found a place for dinner. On the way, we found a short walkway in between some mangrove trees and found a baby sea lion sitting on a bench who couldnt decide whether to sleep or investigate us. Most people met us at the restaurant for dinner, and we ate on an upstairs balcony. A lot of pok bowls and pasta were eaten between us and a man playing a wooden flute. After dinner, Graham, Maya W, and I kept looking around town and checking out all the stores that were open. Before heading back to the boat, we got some ice cream which was delicious.
