Location: Tobago Cays
On this third day in the Tobago Cays, shipmates snorkeled on new reefs, continued working on their oceanography papers, and continued to improve their windsurfing skills. In the afternoon, we set up the long-awaited boom swing on Ocean Star: we took the halyard off the head of the mainsail and attached it to the end of the boom to raise the boom at a 45-degree angle and out over the starboard side. A dock line was attached to the end of the boom, and shipmates proceeded to swing themselves off the boom into the water. Gabe, Mark, and Natty were amongst the most adventurous and mastered backflips. We had a quiet evening a few shipmates were finishing up their paper.
