Not long after, I woke up at 6 am as I usually do. I went for a quick walk around on the boat to see what state we were in to start the day with. I was happy to see that some people were already awake and doing their morning routine. Some workouts and some yoga is always a good start for the day. My happiness only grew when I saw our chefs being busy baking our breakfast. You see, why my surprise was even bigger than it would have been when 7:30 breakfast was late. When we checked what was causing the delay, we found out that our chef squad was facing some difficulties. The problem was that the cake was black and smoky on the outside but still not ready on the inside. As you can imagine, it is indeed hard to come back from that state when you are baking. Well, not for our people here. Eamon and Tate looked into the eyes of the gods of baking, and without blinking, they said: Not today gods, NOT TODAY! With that, they scraped off the burnt part, adjusted the heat, pulled off some sort of baker magic, and shortly after, the whole crew was happily eating some delicious coffee cake with yogurt.
The morning went by quickly after clean up and fridge clean up. A lot of us needed some personal time and caught up on studying. We all returned to our tasks. Some were resting some were working on their essays. Ash was fixing and improving dive gear while Sam worked on our program details, and Steph was getting our provision lists ready.
Lunch was served on time, and boy, oh boy, it was outstanding. Quinn was not happy to just sit around, so right after he finished his meal, he jumped into clean-up mode to finish the soaked baking tray from the morning and to start on the lunch clean-up. He did not mind the fact that everybody else was still eating and we were gonna have a briefing on the afternoon activities. We love the spirit tho. In the afternoon after oceanography class, some of us went ashore to deal with some personal needs and to have stable wifi to deal with some college duties. Others went for a fun dive With Steph and explored some new wonders of the nearby reef. After returning from the dive, Stefi found her neckless and was super happy about it. That’s another proof that if you are in need, just turn to the ocean. One way or another, it will give you the answers that you seek. To end the day, once again, Eamon and Tate made an extraordinary meal for us that we all needed after a nice productive, yet chill day. After all that, as we are finishing up on our night duties, I wish you all a blessed and happy evening.
