Today was an extremely busy day. After a breakfast consisting of chocolate chip pancakes we made a quick departure from Safi and began our voyage to Essaouira, Morocco. We traveled 60 nautical miles, which took roughly nine and a half hours. We had two MTE classes (basic seamanship), a Student Leadership Class, and an Emergency First Responder class. Rather than doing the four-hour day watches, we broke them down to one hour shifts. It is day 46 and we are officially more than half way done with the trip. Many of us are surprised at how quickly the time has passed, and we can all feel the anticipation for our transatlantic crossing which is only two weeks away. Oh and just wanted to give a quick shout out to my family in Atlanta. I love you guys and don’t forget to give Sammy a hug for me!
